The iPad is not just an overgrown iPhone, as the author explains, but those who’ve already been living with iPod Touch and the iPhone have an advantage to knowing the general style of touch-screens — unless you have read this guide and then within the hour, you’ll be all caught up. The book also offers a few gems and shortcuts I would have missed if I’d just learned the iPad by fooling around with it (my typical m.o. with gadgets), so it’s worth the dollar for that.

The perfect book for a novice like me. I have had no experience with iphone, ipod and was at a loss what to do since ipad came with NO instructions. This book gives comprehensive and readable information unlike some books that start beyond my knowledge of anything in the computer world. As a senior citizen, I thank you. We needed that.

Typical of Apple to ship a device without a manual. This ebook does an excellent job of getting straight to the point and giving a quick overview on Apple’s new iPad. Complete with screenshots, quick examples, and how-to scenarios, for $0.99, I don’t know that there’s a better quick-start guide out there.
