Incredible HTC – LOVE this phone

By: Caroline

I’ve been inactivity for this phone for quite a while. The Nexus One was too annoying to purchase through Google and the Moto Droid was just too clunky. This is a beautiful piece of machinery. Touchscreen is wonderful and extremely fast (love the 1GHz processor). The battery life is so-so but I guess you have to anticipate that from a mini computer…downloaded some power saving apps like Sceebl and that helps some.

I’m buying the extended battery from Seidio and will update later on that. Some reviews on tech sites mention that it feels “plasticy” or cheap…which I don’t really concur with. I think the fact that it’s more lightweight than others states a lot about how awesome it is. The touchscreen keyboard is quite simple to use (had a bit of a learning curve for a day or so, but now less than a week later I’m great at it). It’s kind of annoying that some apps automatically begin (like footprints). The camera is very nice considering how small the lens is.

I really wish there was some kind of cover for the lens so it wouldn’t be so simple to scratch it, but I cut a circle out of some screen protector material and place it over the lens. Doesn’t effect my picture calibre at all as far as I can tell. I’ve never owned a smartphone, so my view might be biased…but it’s everything I could ever want and more with only a few minor complaints.

Incredible HTC – This tiny device has made me an EX-iPhone user

By: justice Benedict “Melnida”

I have been a smart phone individual for many years. I started with ATT using a WM 6.0 HTC 9100 then switched to Verizon with the RIM Storm, then back to ATT with the IPhone 3G S. After a year and a half with the iPhone I have grown exhausted of its boring UI and very limited customization. I have been keeping my eyes on the Android since its inception and inactivity for the right device.

After 4 days of heavy usage I can state I’m thrilled with the astounding htc and will never go back to the iPhone even with their upcoming 4G model. The HTC Astounding is fast, configurable, and intuitive. I won’t bother you with the same review as others but concur with most of them.

I have had a couple issues with the phone but nothing to make me think less of it. On low battery the device locks up on me disabling the touch screen until a decent charge is place to it. The first time this happened it frustrated me as the phone would power up but not grant any touch functions (i.e. it would not work at all) after an hour on the charger the issue went away. My other gripe is I have not been healthy to sync any of my mail accounts other than Gmail such as yahoo. Even going through the manual settings I could not get any email accounts to work. This is not a large issue at this point as the browser lets my sign in just as I would on my laptop; however the purpose of near email is to refrain that in the first place.

My last gripe is short battery life. I know there are extra capacity versions on the horizon but I am not a fan of larger protruding heavier batteries. I would rather get a second standard battery then add more bulk and weight but not thrilled with having to change batteries in the course of my work day. These gripes don’t detract from the phones exceptional calibre and spot on value.

Overall if you are considering the astounding htc you will not be disappointed.
