So I just purchased a blackberry curve 8520 for Tmobile, I have the full world wide web data plan. I have heard of people hooking these up to a laptop and getting world wide web on the laptop with their data plan, how would I go about doing that?

Check if they have a tethering plan. It will most likely cost you another monthly fee… The world wide web you get with your phone plan is for you to use the blackberry browser and apps, not tethering.
If you don’t feel like paying another monthly feel for tethering internet, I advocate (and use) the program “Tether” (formely known as TetherBerry), which uses THAt data plan in conjunction with your laptop. It’s fast (as fast as your phone can support data) and is a one time fee. Simple to setup and simple to use.

And what are you planning to do about iOS4 which will upgrade your 3gs nearly to the level of the iPhone 4?
In any event, unless you saved your SHSH to the Cydia server pror to the release of 3.1.3, you can’t downgrade and, if you can’t downgrade, you can’t unlock.
Upgrade to iOS4 on the 21st and move and see if the developers publish an unlock hack.
